Orangetheory Expands UK Presence with Extended Life Fitness Partnership

Life Fitness supports successful global gym franchise’s UK expansion with bespoke equipment offering

Thursday 21 March, 2019 – Orangetheory Fitness, one of the world's fastest-growing fitness franchise brands, has chosen treadmills from Life Fitness for its newest studio in Altrincham, Greater Manchester.  

Opened in January, the Altrincham club is the global gym chain’s sixth UK site and the first in the North, as the US brand targets 40 new studios across the Midlands and Northern England over the next eight years. 

The supply of Life Fitness treadmills to the Altrincham gym is an extension to the existing partnership with Orangetheory, who recently named Life Fitness as its preferred treadmill supplier ahead of the fitness franchise’s international expansion.

The Life Fitness treadmills have been custom-engineered for Orangetheory, with an ultra-comfortable running deck and intuitive interface. The 21-inch Discover SE3 HD digital touch screen fitted to each treadmill can be adjusted frequently to enhance the user experience and Life Fitness’ open architecture also provides the capability to change language and measurement units, enabling Orangetheory to scale its business globally with Life Fitness.  

In addition, Life Fitness’ Halo Fitness Cloud will allow each studio to monitor equipment usage and proactively track maintenance tasks.

With close to 1,000 studios in the United States and Canada, Orangetheory Fitness is a leader in the boutique training space. Each Orangetheory class, taught by highly trained coaches, is an hour-long heart-rate tracked, technology backed, full body workout that utilises treadmills and other cardio and strength-based equipment to help members elevate their heart rate to the “Orange Zone” or 84-91 percent of their maximum heart rate, to encourage ongoing energy burn, post-workout, using the ‘EPOC’ effect.

The business has seen rapid expansion over recent years, with revenue increasing by 137 percent since 2016.
