SCHILLER PARK, Ill. June 3, 2009 – Life Fitness has promoted Brent Hutton to vice president of the consumer business unit. In his new role, Hutton will work closely to ensure Life Fitness and their retail partners maximize store space and location, as well as fully meeting the needs and wants of customers.
Hutton joined Life Fitness in September 2008 as the director of consumer retail development, and brings extensive retail experience to his new role. Prior to joining Life Fitness, Brent was vice president of Buxton Company, where he was responsible for strategic retail analytics.
"Brent brings more than 30 years of experience in retail, and has the knowledge and expertise to provide our partners with new tools and innovative ideas to enhance their businesses," said John Stransky, president of Life Fitness. "I am confident that Brent will provide added value to our consumer business."
From 2002 to 2007, Hutton was president of Hutton Consulting Group, where he consulted with Brunswick Billiards and its specialty dealers to improve customer service, store appearance, new location selection and use of the metric GMROI to determine optimal floor space utilization. Brent also spent time at Tandy Corporation as vice president and divisional manager, and was president of Select Comfort-Sleep Number Bed for five years.
Hutton graduated from Indiana University, with a bachelor's degree in liberal arts. He will reside in Elmhurst, a suburb of Chicago, while also maintaining a residency in Bloomington, IN.
